Further delays on the worldwide release of University of Errors third album "Ugly Music For Monica" have led to a limited edition release via GAS which is due our imminently (any day now!!!) and available only via GAS Mail Order.

Thanks to everyone who made our September and October shows in Europe very special. All of the promoters and staff of the venues and all of the audiences were incredible --we had a great time and plan on returning as soon as possible.

?Why I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member?!

Tour  (see FACULTY TOURS)

In order to keep our grades near perfectly flawed level and in keeping
with Errorist tradition, the release of "Ugly Music For Monica" has been
delayed. Sadly no one in the University administration offices is
particularly surprised by this unfortunate turn. Information on the
release date will be available on this websight as soon as it is known.

The inevitable question regarding this performance was raised by Professor Chester Chumley at a recent meeting of the UofE Board of Governors: "...but is this prog???" A committee has been formed to study and address this issue and a statement is expected soon, but may never come as it has also been pointed out that the question is intrinsically silly and irrelevant.

IN OTHER NEWS
The third album "Ugly Music For Monica" has been finished and Headmaster Allen will be making the cover artwork. The CD will be available from GAS and internationally distributed to shops everywhere.

Plans for exensive touring from August through October are almost
complete. Due to scheduling conflicts Jason Mills has reluctantly removed himself from the drum chair for these sessions. Happily, San Francisco drummer Warren Huegel will be filling in. The first performance with Warren will be at Progman Cometh Music Festival in Seattle Good luck Warren!!! This is what as known as the deep end and you are diving in.

Two other performances will be taking place in the Pacific Northwest the
week following the festival. On Thursday August 22 at I-Spy in Seattle

Appearing will be University of Errors, Herzog (a guitar improv spinoff
group from the band Kinski), and a special performance by Daevid in an
improv trio with Kawabata Makoto and Cotton from Japan's Acid Mothers Temple.
Then on Saturday August 24 The UofE faculty will be returning to San
Juan Island to play the Egg Lake Music Faire (aka Egg Lake Shake) on a bill with Daevid/Acid Mothers Trio, Richard Sinclair, and Damo Suzuki.

There are possibilities of one or two shows in the San Francisco area at the end of August and early September.  On Sept. 7 the Faculty will be flying to Paris to begin a 5-8 week tour of the European continent. The tour is now about 2/3 booked and details will be posted next month.

MAY 2002

The University offices have finally been unlocked for the 2002 academic year. The faculty has finished work on it's third album
tentatively titled "Ugly Music For Monica" which was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn, NY with Tony Maimone (late of Pere Ubu)
and the fascinating Joel Hamilton in the technical chairs.
Mixing was done in two sessions the first over the New Years week and the final mixes the week following April Fools Day. The cover art is
being created by Prof. Jason Mills, and the whole thing should reach the public this summer

Gazul Records in France has recently released a CD with generous contributions from many faculty members. It is by Spirits Burning
and titled Reflections In A Radio Shower. Headmaster Allen and Prof. Clare feature prominently on 4 or 5 tracks, and Profs. Thomas,
Pollock, Pearson, and Radford appear as Mushroom. The CD is available presumably wherever Gazul/Musea releases are found
and soon expected in stock
at the GAS Kasbah
